Mexico-based banking services provider Finsus has completed the acquisition of Anticipa’s technology, a fintech platform that specialises in providing cash advances on merchants’ future card sales, for an undisclosed amount.
The company stated that this purchase will serve as the foundation for launching fast and transparent liquidity solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Mexico. The planned product will offer SMEs financing starting from MXN 150,000 (US$8,036), secured against their card sales flow, and delivered entirely through a digital platform. Anticipa, founded in 2019, has already facilitated more than MXN 1.3bn (US$69.65m) in business advances.
Finsus explained that the acquisition is part of its broader strategy to position itself as Mexico’s first homegrown digital neobank. Its current portfolio includes investment and savings accounts, as well as a wide range of retail and business credit products such as Llavecredit, which allows access to up to 40 per cent liquidity on property. The integration of Anticipa’s capabilities will enhance the company’s ability to understand and meet the daily operational needs of small businesses. Finsus emphasized that, in Mexico, millions of businesses generate daily sales yet struggle to demonstrate this to traditional banks in order to secure financing — an issue the acquisition aims to address.
This move follows the company’s earlier acquisitions in 2024. The purchase of Pulpi was leveraged to develop payroll advance and credit services for business employees, while the acquisition of the Distrito Pyme platform helped digitise the credit application process, resulting in the launch of its Digital SME Credit product.
